Short writeup:
In my latest TikTok Prelim Paper Review, I dive into a 2023 paper that closely mirrors an A-level exam. This paper scores high in "relevance," with many questions that could easily be mistaken for those in the A-level Ten-Year-Series. In fact, some questions are directly taken from older A-level papers I tackled as a JC2 student back in 2010. However, there are aspects I disagree with; for instance, the pure mathematics section seems overly lengthy and not entirely representative of typical A-level exams.
Moreover, this paper includes a question very similar to the 2023 A-level's Method of Difference question. Students struggled with that topic in 2023, and here it appears in a slightly simplified form. Overall, considering its difficulty, this paper is quite fair and above average in quality.
I highly recommend every JC2 student use this paper as timed practice, particularly as one of the final few papers leading up to the actual A-levels. While not a perfect emulation, it serves as a solid simulation. If you're a student looking to gauge your readiness for the A-levels, this paper is an excellent resource.
