The 2020 Raffles Institution H2 Math Paper 2 stands out for its unique and rare approach. Unlike typical school prelim papers and recent A-level exams, this paper strips away most contextual information, focusing solely on testing a student's fundamental understanding of each topic. This lack of context can make the questions seem unusual and challenging, but it effectively gauges core mathematical concepts.
This paper's raw questions are reminiscent of pre-2000 A-level exams, which were known for their difficulty and emphasis on fundamental concepts. While this might be daunting for many students due to unfamiliarity, it presents a valuable opportunity to test their true understanding of the H2 Mathematics syllabus.
